Homeschooling doesn’t look like traditional school.
Say it again to yourself a few times…
The thing is – we don’t know what we don’t know. And we only know what we know. (Haha)
So, it makes sense that homeschooling moms (myself included) start out trying to do school at home. But family life at home doesn’t often cooperate with our color coded time tables and organized binders.
Life at home is full of interruptions and rabbit trails.
How, then, do we establish rhythms and routines that go along with our season of life?
How might different seasons of life affect homeschooling plans and schedules?
That’s the topic we’re tackling in this podcast episode.
In this episode you’ll hear:
- A philosophy of planning your homeschool around the season of life that you’re in
- Specific examples of seasons based homeschooling
- How to think outside the traditional school classroom in terms of planning and routines.
Independent Lists
Here are several templates I’ve made for my kids in various seasons of life.
Some kids do well with a daily list; some kids like the lists all in one spot for the week. You could also just write lists in a notebook or calendar. We’ve done that too!
Do what works for you.
