Musical Memory is very flexible, and you should feel free to tailor it to suit your family’s homeschool needs. A veteran homeschool momma once wisely told me, “You don’t serve the curriculum. The curriculum serves you!”
To that end, we sell the same songs organized a couple different ways.
The simplest option is to choose our Yearly Program. Year 1 and Year 2 are available now! (Year 3 will release in the fall of 2023.)
Upon purchasing, you receive everything you need to follow our program week by week, just like the free 2 week sample demonstrates. It can be as simple as playing each week’s songs for 5-10 minutes a day & your kids will likely master most of the material with very little effort.
More details below!
You can purchase subjects individually, which works well if you don’t want to work on a standard memorization curriculum with your family, but you do want to memorize specific subject matter. Currently, we have Math Fundamentals and Astronomy available.
Over the next 2 years, we will release English Grammar, Latin, Anatomy, Life & Earth Science, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Programming Fundamentals, and several Bible passages.
Each individual subject album makes a great supplement to that area of study.
You can also purchase a Full Year of the program. The program is brand new, so Year 1 is available for this 2021-22 school year. Years 2 and 3 will be released over the course of the next 2 school years to complete the whole program.
The Yearly Program is organized into 28 weeks. There are 5 subjects in each week - Math, Science, English, Latin, Bible. The songs come in a playlist of individual tracks, like the sample downloads demonstrate. If you're not interested in using one of the subjects, you can just delete those tracks from your playlist. You also receive the songs organized by subject when you purchase the entire year program.
The 3 Year Program covers carefully chosen fundamentals that are crucial to a long-term deep understanding of each subject area.

- Organized Albums of mp3s - When you purchase a Yearly Program Album, you receive the mp3s organized both by WEEK and by SUBJECT. This makes it easy to learn material on a weekly basis while also easily accessing playlists of each subject. You can also create your own unique playlists with our songs or delete any songs you don't want to use.
- Weekly Guide - A printable week-by-week guide to the entire year. This is useful for following along with the weekly playlists, and for any copywork or games you might want to play as well.
- Subject Quick-Look Sheets - A one or two page overview of all the content for one subject. You can use these for review days, or as a reference page. You could also print one subject page for each older child and allow them to check off the ones they've mastered.
- Progress Tracking Charts - if you like that sort of thing. You can use the chart to track which songs you've introduced. Or print one chart for each child and track mastery. (Tracking isn't necessary! If it stresses you or your child out, skip the chart.)
- Teaching Resources - Teaching tips, ideas, and games to help you learn the songs.
Some families choose to just purchase Math Fundamentals to help make it easier to memorize math facts and formulas.
For example, you can play the Math Album while your kids play legos during a mid-morning brain break. You can explicitly teach one little song per week by repeating that one slowly without the music several times and then singing along with the music several times. (This is why our songs are all super short. Most are only 15-30 seconds long!) a 5 or 6 year old might get 50-75% of it mastered.
The following year, you'd repeat the same Math Album but they'd likely easily master 100% of it. Plus, little kids LOVE hearing songs they know over and over, so they will love it. A few years later, once the multiplication tables & geometry formulas become relevant to practical math, all the little songs they learned will come back to mind, instantly deepening your child's understanding of the concepts. (For more explanation about how memorization helps critical thinking, read this!)
Note: The entire Math Fundamentals Album is included with the Yearly Album purchase.
Some families purchase a science album to go along with their unit of study for the year. Currently, we have Astronomy available. In the next 2 years, we'll be releasing Physics, Chemistry, Life & Earth Science, and Anatomy albums as well.
Note - the entire Astronomy album is included with the Year 1 Album.
Our family loves using song to memorize scripture. There are already tons of great scripture-to-song options out there, which we have personally used and loved. (Hide 'Em in Your Heart are great for 2-4 year olds and Seeds albums are great for older kids.)
However, we've wanted songs that cover longer passages! So we made some 🙂
So far, we have Psalms 1 and Proverbs 3:1-8 available.
In January 2022, we'll release James 5:13-18 and Romans 8:1-8, and we will plan to release a few passages per school year after that.
Note - Psalms 1, Proverbs 3:1-8, James 5:13-18, and Romans 8:1-8 are included with the Year 1 Album purchase. They can be purchased individually as well.
Though English is a somewhat complicated language, it's also extremely structured. If you plan to use Grammar studies in your homeschool, I highly recommend the English Grammar album to make it more fun!!
You can play the albums when your kids are young and don't really understand what they're memorizing (ages 4-7). Your future self will thank you since having the structure, definitions, and word lists already memorized will make upper level Grammar a lot easier as your kids get older.
Our definitions are all very standard, so you can substitute the ones from your curriculum with these ones you memorize to song. These songs would work well alongside many popular Homeschooling curriculum, including (but not limited to), The Good & the Beautiful, First Language Lessons, Logic of English, Abeka, Easy Grammar, Sonlight, Bookshark, and Michael Clay Thompson.
The complete English Grammar album will release in 2022.
The first 3rd of the English Grammar program is available in the Year 1 Album.
Our Latin album will release in 2022. It will provide a comprehensive introduction to Latin.
If your child learns all the songs on the Latin album, they will be adequately prepared to start Formal Latin studies whenever you choose, and with any curriculum. Many classical homeschoolers began Latin sometime between 3rd and 5th grade.
There are a programs designed to prepare younger children for Latin, but all of those curriculums include workbooks, CDs, videos, etc.
Often times families don’t feel like they have the capacity to work on Latin from a very young age, but they want their child to be prepared to study Latin when they’re older. Our Latin album is perfect for that!
It was designed in conjunction with experienced Latin teachers who helped create the scope and sequence for the songs.
Note - The first part of our Latin program is included with the Year 1 Album.
